Throughout these Terms, "Walled Garden Counselling", "the Practice", "we", "our", and "us" refer to the sole trader operating under the trading name Walled Garden Counselling.

2. Professional Counselling Services

Walled Garden Counselling provides professional counselling services.

The practitioner is described throughout this Website as a Counsellor.

Nothing on this Website should be interpreted as representing services in the capacity of a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Medical Practitioner, or any other regulated healthcare professional unless expressly stated.

Counselling is a collaborative process intended to support emotional wellbeing, personal reflection, self-understanding and personal development.

The services offered do not constitute medical treatment, psychiatric care, diagnosis, psychological assessment, emergency mental health services, or crisis intervention.

3. No Emergency or Crisis Service

Walled Garden Counselling is not an emergency, crisis, or urgent-response service.

The Website, contact forms, email inboxes and appointment systems are not continuously monitored.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, are at immediate risk of harm, believe another person is at immediate risk, or require urgent support, you should seek appropriate emergency assistance immediately.

Until that point, no therapeutic relationship exists.

6. Eligibility

Counselling services offered through Walled Garden Counselling are available only to individuals aged 18 years and over.

By making an enquiry or requesting an appointment, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old;

  • Information you provide is accurate and complete;

  • You have the legal capacity to enter into agreements relating to counselling services.

The Practice reserves the right to decline enquiries where services are not appropriate, suitable, or available.

7. Enquiries and Appointments

Appointment requests may be made through:

  • Online booking systems

  • Other approved communication methods

Submission of an enquiry does not guarantee availability.

Appointments are confirmed only once confirmation has been provided by Walled Garden Counselling.

Standard counselling sessions are generally 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed.

8. Fees and Payment

Current fees are displayed on the Website or communicated directly during the enquiry process.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Payment is due in advance of the scheduled session;

  • Payment must be made using an approved payment method;

  • Future appointments may be withheld where payment remains outstanding.

Fees may be reviewed and amended from time to time.

Any fee changes will not affect appointments already confirmed unless otherwise agreed.

9. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The Practice operates the following appointment policy:

Cancellation

A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel an appointment and receive a refund.

Rescheduling

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to rearrange an appointment without forfeiting the session fee.

Late Cancellation

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may not be eligible for a refund.

Missed Appointments

Missed appointments and non-attendance are charged at the full session fee.

Late Arrival

Where a client arrives late to a session, the session will usually conclude at the originally scheduled time and the full fee remains payable.

Any exceptions remain at the sole discretion of the Counsellor.

10. Online Counselling Sessions

As an online practice, counselling sessions are delivered remotely using secure online platforms.

Clients are responsible for ensuring:

  • A suitable internet connection;

  • Access to a functioning device;

  • A private and confidential environment;

  • Appropriate technology to access sessions.

In the event of technical difficulties, reasonable efforts will be made to reconnect and continue the session where possible.

11. Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of counselling practice.

Information disclosed during counselling will generally remain confidential except where disclosure is required by law, safeguarding obligations, or ethical responsibilities.

Examples may include:

  • Serious concerns regarding risk of harm;

  • Safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults;

  • Compliance with legal obligations or court orders;

  • Prevention of serious crime.

12. Professional Standards

Walled Garden Counselling is committed to ethical and professional practice.

The Counsellor:

  • Holds postgraduate counselling qualifications;

  • Is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS);

  • Undertakes ongoing professional development;

  • Participates in professional supervision;

  • Maintains professional indemnity insurance.

Membership of a professional body does not create any guarantee of outcome or suitability for any individual client.
