<image:title>The Wisteria Path - Coming Out Later in Life is Not One Single Moment</image:title>
<image:caption>Coming out is often described as an announcement. In reality, it is usually a process, and sometimes a long one. Sometimes a private one. Sometimes one that changes shape over time. You are now on a new path with new life stages to navigate, new communities to join, new history to learn and it can be helpful to have someone help you walk along that garden path. You may be coming out to yourself before anyone else. You may be deciding what to say to a partner. You may be trying to stay grounded while family members react. You may be grieving a marriage, grieving the milestones that were missed, rebuilding a sense of desire, excited for all the new possibilities, and discovering that joy and loss can exist in the same room.</image:caption>

<image:caption>When you are coming out later in life, it can feel as though every part of your life is suddenly asking for an answer: your body, your relationships, your family, your future, your past. Counselling offers a confidential space to slow that down. Together, we can explore what you are feeling, what you are afraid of, what you already know, and what needs more time. The work will never force you toward a decision. It is about helping you hear yourself more clearly.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Wisteria Path - Affirming Support, So You Don’t Have to Justify Your Truth</image:title>
<image:caption>LGBTQ+ affirming counselling starts with knowing that your sexuality is not a problem to solve, and does not push you toward a label, timeline, relationship structure, or public version of identity before you are ready. It recognises that sexuality and identity are shaped within real lives: families, cultures, marriages, workplaces, faith communities, bodies, histories and social expectations. The work is to help you feel safer being honest with yourself. Learn more about LGBTQ+ affirming counselling.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Sweet Pea Path - What Happens in Couples’ Counselling?</image:title>
<image:caption>Couples’ counselling offers a structured space where both people can speak, listen and begin noticing the pattern between them rather than only the content of the latest argument. The work may involve exploring communication, emotional needs, conflict cycles, attachment patterns, trust, intimacy, boundaries and what each person is protecting. Sessions are collaborative and paced carefully. The aim is not to force a particular outcome, but to create more honesty, understanding and choice.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Iris Path - When Success Stops Feeling Like Alignment</image:title>
<image:caption>Sometimes transition begins with success. You may have reached a role, income, relationship, home, city or version of adulthood that once represented safety. From the outside, it may look like you are doing well. Internally, however, something may have gone quiet. You may feel restless, undernourished, resentful, guilty, trapped, or unable to admit that what you worked so hard for no longer feels like enough. Counselling can help you explore career change, ambition, burnout, and identity without shaming the part of you that wanted the old life, or the part of you that may want something different now. If this overlaps with pressure, perfectionism or emotional exhaustion, Burnout and Executive Pressure may also be relevant.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Iris Path - When Moving Changes More Than Your Address</image:title>
<image:caption>Relocation can be practical on paper and deeply emotional in the body. You may be adjusting to a new city, a new country, a new culture, a new version of independence, or the loneliness of being away from familiar people and places. You may also be returning somewhere and discovering that home no longer feels simple. Belonging can shift. Identity can shift. The version of you that existed in one place may not transfer neatly into another.</image:caption>

It can affect the nervous system, the body, relationships, self-worth, sexuality, intimacy, boundaries and the way you move through the world. Some survivors feel constantly alert. <image:title>The Foxglove Path - Trauma-Informed Support Means You Set the Pace</image:title>
<image:caption>Trauma-informed counselling is not about forcing you to tell the story before you feel ready. It is not about pushing you to relive what happened, forgive anyone, report anything, or perform a particular version of healing. Instead, the work begins with safety, consent, pacing and choice. Together, we can explore what trauma has changed, what helped you survive, and what support your nervous system, body and relational self may need now.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Foxglove Path - A Body-Aware Approach to Sexual Trauma</image:title>
<image:caption>For many survivors, insight alone is not enough. You may understand what happened. You may have talked about it before. You may know it was not your fault. And still, your body may react as if danger is close. Somatic-informed coaching pays attention to how trauma may show up in the nervous system: tension, collapse, numbness, overactivation, disconnection, bracing, freezing, or the sense of leaving your body when something feels too much. This work is gentle and paced. It is not about forcing sensation, pushing through, or making the body tell a story before it is ready. It is about slowly building more safety, choice and capacity.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Foxglove Path - Online Sexual Trauma Counselling Across the UK</image:title>
<image:caption>Online counselling can offer privacy, flexibility and control during trauma work. This can be especially helpful if you live somewhere with fewer specialist trauma-informed services, are not ready to access local support, travel often, have access needs, or want support that fits around work, caregiving or family life.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to The Walled Garden, an online counselling practice based out of London offering discreet, trauma-informed, somatic, and LGBTQ+ affirming support for women and LGBTQ+ clients. Historically, a walled garden was a safe and cultivated space, enclosed to create the conditions for life to thrive. Within its boundaries, beautiful and rare things could grow with care, consistency, and protection from the harsher elements outside. That is the intention behind this counselling. Many of the people I work with are highly capable, accomplished, and deeply resilient. From the outside, their lives often look structured, successful, controlled, and enviable. Inside their walls, however, there may be exhaustion, anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, emotional disconnection, or the strain of constantly holding everything together. The Walled Garden exists as a space where that internal experience no longer has to be managed or performed alone. I believe that you already have the innate wisdom you need to heal; I am here to guide you on your journey through your garden, provide a safe space where you feel heard, and help reveal your path to healing.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Magnolia Path - What is Burnout?</image:title>
<image:caption>Burnout is often described as a state of emotional, physical and mental exhaustion that can develop after prolonged stress. It can affect your energy, concentration, mood, relationships, body, motivation, decision-making and ability to feel present in your own life. It does not always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like continuing to perform while becoming less and less available to yourself.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Magnolia Path - Burnout is Not Only in Your Calendar</image:title>
<image:caption>Burnout often shows up in the body before the mind can organise it into words. You may notice headaches, sleep disruption, digestive issues, chest tightness, jaw tension, shallow breathing, fatigue, restlessness, emotional numbness, or a sense of being both exhausted and unable to settle. When the nervous system has spent too long in pressure, threat, urgency or performance, rest may not feel restful. You may stop working, but your body may not yet know how to come down. Want to understand more about body-aware support? A free consultation can help clarify whether this is for you.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Magnolia Path - Counselling can Help you Stop Treating Yourself Like a Resource</image:title>
<image:caption>Burnout counselling is not about helping you become more efficient at self-abandonment. It is not about finding a better morning routine so you can return to the same impossible pace with a nicer water bottle. The work is deeper than that. Together, we can explore how you learned to carry pressure, what you believe would happen if you stopped, how your body signals overload, and what a more sustainable relationship with work, responsibility, boundaries and self-worth might require.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Magnolia Path - A Body-Aware Approach to Pressure and Recovery</image:title>
<image:caption>A somatic-informed approach recognises that burnout is not only a thought pattern. It is also held in the nervous system, body, breath, muscles, posture, energy, sleep, attention, and capacity for connection. Instead of only asking, “How can I cope better?”, at The Walled Garden, we might ask: What has your body been trying to tell you? Where did you learn to override it? What happens when you imagine saying no? What does rest feel like before it becomes restorative? What would support need to look like for your system to believe it is allowed?</image:caption>

<image:title>The Linden Path - What is Somatic Coaching?</image:title>
<image:caption>Somatic coaching is a body-aware approach to personal growth, emotional regulation and behavioural change. Rather than focusing only on thoughts, goals or mindset, it also pays attention to physical sensations, nervous system patterns, breath, tension, posture, movement, impulses and the body’s signals. The word “somatic” refers to the body. In practice, somatic coaching helps you notice how your body responds to stress, pressure, relationships, boundaries, decisions and change. Somatic counselling helps you learn how you can build more capacity, choice and steadiness over time in day-to-day life.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Somatic counselling sessions are collaborative and paced around your capacity. Sessions may include conversation, body awareness, grounding, nervous system education, reflection, gentle practices, noticing sensations, exploring boundaries, working with small choices, and developing tools you can return to between sessions.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Linden Path - An Alternative to Productivity-Led Coaching</image:title>
<image:caption>Somatic counselling at The Walled Garden is not about becoming more efficient at overriding yourself. It is not about turning your nervous system into another performance project. This work is slower, kinder and more honest than that. It is for people who are tired of pushing through, performing okay, explaining themselves perfectly, and treating their bodies as inconvenient obstacles to success. Together, we can explore what your body has been trying to communicate, where your system has learned to protect you, and what it might mean to build a life with more room for choice, capacity, rest, boundaries and self-trust.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Hellebore Path - What is Functional Freeze?</image:title>
<image:caption>Functional freeze is a term often used to describe a state where the body and nervous system move into shutdown or immobility, while the person continues to function outwardly. It can feel like being frozen behind the glass of your own life: present enough to perform, but not present enough to feel connected, alive, rested, or fully yourself. Functional freeze is not a formal diagnosis. It is a useful way of describing a nervous system pattern that can happen after chronic stress, trauma, overwhelm, burnout, relational pressure, or long periods of having to keep going without enough safety or support.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Hellebore Path - Coming Out of Freeze Won’t Happen by Forcing Yourself to Move Faster</image:title>
<image:caption>If your system has learned to survive by shutting down, pushing harder may not create safety. It may simply repeat the pattern: pressure, performance, collapse. Somatic-informed counselling can support a slower kind of change. This may involve noticing what happens in the body, building resources, working with small amounts of sensation or emotion at a time, and helping the nervous system experience more choice without overwhelm</image:caption>

<image:title>The Lavender Path - What Does Affirming Counselling Mean in Practice?</image:title>
<image:caption>Affirming counselling is more than being “LGBTQ+ friendly”. It means your counsellor understands that sexuality, gender, bodies, relationships, and trauma are shaped by wider social pressures. Family systems, culture, religion, healthcare, discrimination, shame, and silence can all contribute to this. In practice, this means you will not be asked to justify who you are. You will not be pushed toward a particular label, relationship structure, or version of healing. Instead, counselling offers a space to understand what has happened, what you have had to carry, and what safety, choice, and self-trust might look like for you, now.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Camellia Path - When Being Capable Becomes a Way of Disappearing</image:title>
<image:caption>Many of the women drawn to this work are deeply capable. They may be successful, responsible, emotionally intelligent, socially aware, and used to being the person other people rely on. But capability can sometimes hide self-abandonment. You may know how to read a room, manage a mood, anticipate a partner’s needs, absorb disappointment, perform ease, or keep everything moving while slowly losing access to your own wants. Over time, the question may stop being “Why am I not enough?” and become “Where did I learn to become so little trouble?”</image:caption>

<image:caption>This page may be especially supportive for women navigating dating, long-term relationships, marriage, separation, attraction, emotional labour, gendered expectations, or repeated patterns in relationships with men. The work is not about blaming men, blaming you, or turning every relationship into a diagnosis. It is about understanding how self-worth, attachment, culture, gender roles, family history, and past relationships may shape what you expect from love, and what you allow yourself to need within it.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Aster Path - What Happens in Voice Coaching?</image:title>
<image:caption>Gender-affirming voice work is collaborative. We begin with what you want from your voice, what feels difficult now, and what would help you feel more comfortable, confident or safe. Depending on your goals, sessions may explore aspects of voice and communication such as pitch, resonance, vocal weight, breath, pacing, intonation, articulation, speech patterns, non-verbal communication and vocal care. I’ll use techniques such as Estill Voice Training to help you understand the individual parts of your vocal system. ASHA describes gender-affirming voice and communication coaching as work that may involve pitch, resonance, speech and nonverbal communication, which is useful language to reflect here without making the page too clinical.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Aster Path - Voice Work is Also Body Work</image:title>
<image:caption>Voice does not happen separately from the body. It is shaped by breath, posture, tension, nervous system state, emotion, safety and habit. For many people, speaking can bring up more than sound. It can bring up dysphoria, visibility, fear, shame, joy, grief, anger, hope or the vulnerability of being recognised. A gentle, body-aware approach allows us to work with voice without treating it as a purely technical problem. We can pay attention to what happens in your body when you speak, practise, are heard, or imagine being heard differently. If you are interested in this body-aware approach, you may also want to read about Somatic Coaching.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Rose Path - Body Positivity Isn’t About Forced Self-Love</image:title>
<image:caption>The language of body positivity can be powerful, especially when it challenges shame, exclusion, and narrow beauty standards. But for some people, “love your body” can feel too far away, too simplistic, or strangely demanding. In this work, body positivity can include body neutrality, body respect, and body liberation. The goal is not to replace every painful thought with a perfect affirmation. The goal is to create more room: for your body to be more than an object, more than a project, and more than something you have to constantly manage to be acceptable. Body neutrality can be a more accessible starting point. Instead of asking, “Do I love how I look?”, we might ask, “Can I relate to my body with less hostility? Can I notice what it needs? Can I allow it to belong to me without constant judgement?”</image:caption>
